Dr. Laura Conklin

Dr. Conklin was born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. While growing up in Hawaii she divided her time between going to the beach, and riding horses. It was a wonderful way to spend her childhood, and that was the beginning of her deep love and respect for the outdoors. Dr. Conklin remembers first announcing to her parents that she was going to be a veterinarian when she was 7 years old.

She moved to southern California where she lived for 4 years, and in 1986 she move to Colorado to go college at Colorado State University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science and them completed her Master's degree in Human Anatomy and Neurobiology. Dr Conklin obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 2002, and then went on to complete a 13 month formal internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver.

Her professional interests include emergency medicine, behavior, and dermatology, which she utilizes every day! On a personal note, she enjoys hiking with her 4 dogs, riding her two horses, and taking relaxing yoga classes.
