Dr. Julie Harrington Smith

Dr. Harrington Smith was born and raised in Louisiana, but has lived in Colorado for over 10 years after stops in various other southern states. Although she wanted to be a veterinarian when she was a child, she got sidetracked during her first trek through college at Louisiana Tech University and her first degree is in accounting. After spending many years in corporate America, she went back to school to pursue her childhood dream. She recently received her DVM from Colorado State University.
Dr. Harrington Smith is also certified in veterinary acupuncture, and is excited about adding this service to Chatfield. She views acupuncture as another "tool in the toolbox" which can be very beneficial to patients. By stimulating the nervous system with thin needles at specific points on the body, pain can be alleviated, muscle spasms relaxed, effects of certain disease processes helped, and the overall health of a pet enhanced.
In her personal time, Dr. Harrington Smith likes to enjoy the Colorado outdoors with her two Golden Retrievers, Ben and Sage. Ben is also her faithful running companion in the early morning, while Sage keeps snoozing until they return. She (Dr. Harrington Smith, not Sage) has run two marathons, and is contemplating a third.
